Cumberland Mountain State Rustic Park is primarily known for its natural beauty, other activities include boating, swimming, fishing, picnicking, and hiking. For more information call 931-484-6318.

Burgess Falls State Park this day use park has picnic facilities, playgrounds and scenic trails along the gorge of Falling Water River. 761-3338

Fall Creek Falls State Resort Park is the second largest park in the system with 16,000 acres, offers some of the most spectacular and breathtaking scenery in Tennessee. 881-3241

Pickett State Park is known for its unusual geological formations and abundant variety of vegetation. 879-5821

Standing Stone State Rustic Park is make up of vast, primitive woodlands, gorges, overlooks and a lake. 823-6347

Edgar Evins State Rustic Park nature trails will take you through wooded terrain that is characterized by rolling hills and steep walled bluffs. 858-2446

Rock Island State Rustic Park - The Great Falls and Center Hill reservoirs are ideal for boating, fishing and swimming. 686-2471

Ozone Falls is a 110 foot waterfall which spills over rugged boulders to a pool below. In the Ozone Falls State Natural Area, the falls is surrounded by ruggedly beautiful terrain.

Virgin Falls is 317 acres of forest, interspersed with hiking trails, streams, overlooks and caves create the spectacular Virgin Falls Pocket Wilderness State Natural Area. 836-3552

Rock House Historic Site a former stagecoach inn, alongside the Washington Road, the Rock House was visited by such notables as Presidents Andrew Jackson and James D. Polk. 836-3552

Sgt. Alvin C. York Mill/Home Historic Site - The grist mill operated by Sgt. Alvin C. York, the World War I hero immortalized by Gary Cooper in the movie Sergeant York. 879-4026

Muddy Pond Mennonite Community - Sorghum making is an annual Autumn tradition here. Fresh bread, jams and jellies and vegetables are sold at roadside stands. 823-6421

Cordell Hull Birthplace and Museum - The birthplace cabin and museum containing memorabilia of the life and career of Cordell Hull, "Father of the United Nations" and winner of the Nobel Peace Prize is located near Byrdstown. 864-3147

Appalachian Center for Crafts - The Joe L. Evins Appalachian Center for Crafts, is a professional crafts center that teaches fine Appalachian and contemporary crafts. 597-6801

OAK RIDGE: (AREA CODE 865)

Located in the foothills of the Cumberland Mountains, just 22 miles west of Knoxville, Oak Ridge is easily accessible by I-40 and I-75. Surrounded by tree covered ridges, picturesque valleys, and numerous lakes and rivers, recreation is a natural in Oak Ridge.
